FAQ

What is an air ambulance?
An air ambulance is a fixed-wing aircraft with built in stretcher system and fully equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical equipment and medical personnel to assist in the transport of an ill person from one city to another, regardless of distance.
What service does “The Air Ambulance India” air Ambulance provides?
The Air Ambulance India provides many types of services to suit the patient’s particular medical needs. In most circumstances, The Air Ambulance India will provide complete worry-free BEDSIDE-to-BEDSIDE service, which means we will provide a ground ambulance to pick up the patient from their bedside to the nearest possible airport. The Air Ambulance India will then fly the patient on an awaiting air ambulance that is medically equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipment and staffed with a Registered Nurse and/or ALS Paramedic. Upon arrival to the destination airport, an awaiting ambulance will transfer the patient to the final destination.

The Air Ambulance India also provides specialized medical staff when needed. For example, when a patient requires a respirator or ventilator, a Respiratory Therapist is required to operate such a device on board the flight. Physicians may also be available upon request, at additional fees. In addition, The Air Ambulance India provides Medical Escort Service for those patients that require medical care on a commercial airliner.
What kind of medical personnel does “The Air Ambulance India” provide?
The Air Ambulance India provides, in most circumstances, a Registered Nurse and/or an ALS Paramedic to attend to patients on board. When a patient needs to be transported with a respirator or ventilator, a Respiratory Therapist is required to treat the patient along with a nurse. Specialized physicians, such as Cardiologist, Neurologist, ER Physicians and or Orthopedists, always accompany patient on board.

Yes. The Air Ambulance India provides a team of Neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists to take care of infants in incubators or isolate. The Air Ambulance India also provides a team of Pediatric medical staff that will attend pediatric patients. In most flights, parents will be able to accompany their loved ones.

Yes. The Air Ambulance India recommends that you contact us prior to the transfer, when you are placed on the transplant list, to discuss our aircraft availability, payment arrangements, and other details. However, due to time limitation, we urge you to compile a list of air transport companies to determine which will respond in the shortest time possible.
When an air ambulance transfer is most needed?
When a patient requires a stretcher during an air transport, then an air ambulance will be most needed. Other occasions may require the patient to go to a specialized hospital for immediate treatment or specialized rehabilitation. Also patients and their family members may prefer using an air ambulance for the comfort and worry-free bedside-to-bedside service that The Air Ambulance India offers rather than using a commercial airline that do not accept patients on domestic flights.
